Feel Good forties workshops

This 7 week programme is going to pack a lot into your evenings. It's my intention to give you a little insight into the what, why and how to deal with of the perimenopause as well as evenings of exercise and relaxation. 

This is such an important time in our lives and one in which the investment in our self care can reap huge rewards for our health in the long term. Each evening will include an introduction to aspects of health and wellness in the perimenopause as well as a 25 minute exercise session and 15 minute stretch and relaxation. Exercise, relaxation and good nutrition are the essential building blocks of a healthy life. 

After each session I will send you a summary of what we covered and guidance on further reading and will invite you to a private Facebook group to continue the discussion online if you need it. There will be 'homework' - a workout to do at home, and some questions to answer. 

Where: Penny Brohn UK have a beautiful building in a lovely location  for us to use. It's located in Ham Green which is a short drive from Bristol. There is plenty of parking in their car park. 

When: Tuesday evenings for 7 weeks starting in April . Please arrive at 7:15 for a 7:30pm start. The first class will last approximately 2 hours, all subsequent classes will be approximately 1-1.5 hours.  

How much: £135 for 7 weeks. Only 10 places available. 

Taster session: 12th April 2018 £25* for an evening to introduce you to hormones, perimenopause and the aims of the course.  (refundable against the full price of the course). 

Week 1 & 2

What is the perimenopause anyway? What, why and when is the menopause? 

An introduction to hormonal changes and what that might feel like for you. I'll talk a little about HRT and why it can be useful to get tested and ask for help. 

Pelvic floor health and why we need to pay attention. 

week 3 & 4

The impact of what we eat (and drink) in this life phase. What to avoid and limit and what to encourage. How to eat well when life is busy.  

Sample exercise routines, easily repeatable at home.

Breathing and relaxation exercises. 

Week 5, 6 & 7

The impact of stress and the importance of rest. Helping you create a strategy to get back to being you (not just wife, mum, colleague, volunteer, friend). 

The final session will end with a guided meditation as well as hot tea and an opportunity to have a more informal conversation as a group. 

what next? 

There will be an opportunity to continue with an exercise programme with Wild Country Woman, take part in further monthly evening sessions which will focus on supporting us through the perimenopause or to work with me one-to-one as a personal trainer to really embed healthy changes into your life.

We hold regular taster sessions to give you an overview of the course as well as some key information to take with you and put into action to make the most of where you are right now. 

The event will last approximately 2 hours, starting at 7pm and I will provide some light refreshments. 

The next Taster session will be in January 2018.
